RetroN consoles have been around for a while but earlier this year, it was announced that they would be launching the RetroN5 that’s capable of playing NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, various Gameboys and other games using the original cartridges.

With the new console, video and audio output improvements have been made to the overall experience and you can also use original controllers or sync up to four wireless controllers via Bluetooth for around $100.

Sounds friggin great, right?

Sadly though, the first release was scheduled for July of 2013. The second was the end of this year. And now, a manufacturing issue has pushed back the release until the first quarter of 2014 due to a faulty pin affecting a small percentage of units.

On the bright side, it’s still an awesome console whether you get it today or in a couple months. So practice patience until the day you are awarded with this beauty…
