Taylor Swift is one of the most popular singers on the planet. But outside of a perfectly crafted PR image are rare instances of her bold self. Here are 5 times Taylor Swift DGAF.
Let’s talk T-Swift, shall we?
Over time, the world has watched as she’s morphed from a cute up and coming country star to a loathed pop artist, then to her major brand changing current, fabulous, T-Swift self. The hair, the clothes, the celebrity boyfriend, and the squad has the masses hungry for her.
Through all of this, the icon has proved time and time again that she simply DGAF about what you think of her. Career focused and having a blast, she shakes the haters right off. In the words of the great Childish Gambino, Taylor illuminates “Don’t be mad ‘cause I’m doing me better than you doing you.”
Like the time, way back in 2012, she tweeted this:
How come no one told me that for 4 hours there was chocolate cake ALL over my face?!? Because you ate it alone, Taylor. You ate it alone.

Or any of her Instagram posts about her cats, Meredith and Olivia (named after her TV idols, Dr. Meredith Gray and Detective Olivia Benson). Also, there is my personal favorite Insta post when she argued with the goats. Ironically it helped in making her even more the GOAT.
And we cannot forget the time she sang with Idina Menze, who was striking in her Elsa dress, alongside Taylor in a full on Olaf costume.
Yes, she dressed as Olaf. And admiration grew for the blonde bombshell around the world.
Have we already forgotten the awkward dance moves at the 2014 Grammys? Taylor emanated the DGAF attitude as she danced happily in the crowd, as friends and colleagues received the awards. She was the queen of the BuzzFeed headlines the next day by simply enjoying her evening at an awards show. Just a typical day in the life of our queen.
Then there is the most recent, ultimate class act, TSwift shaking it off moment. Her 2015 Grammy acceptance speech. After days of Kanye West trying to spark a feud with his once rival, and the controversy in a new track off “Life of Pablo”, Tay threw shade in front of millions of people.
“And as the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to the young woman out there, there are going to be people along the way who try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame. But if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you’re going, you will look around and you will know it was you and the people who love you who put you there, and that will be the greatest feeling in the world”
Take a bow, Tay, and keep slaying.
Long live the queen.
