Dear MLB, never try to compete with a strong, cult-followed, behemoth of a show like “The Walking Dead”. You will invariably lose.
The season finale of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” aired this past Sunday night, the same night MLB aired its “Opening Night” game with the Padres taking on the Dodgers.
Nielsen estimates “The Walking Dead” finale walked away with 15.7 million viewers.
In comparison, the opening night baseball game drew just under 2 million viewers.
This is the fourth straight year Opening Night ratings have either stayed steady or declined.
