By now, most NFL fans know of the enormous female following that the sport has. Which is why we at GuysGirl reached out via various social networks to recognize the real female fans that are tailgating in the elements, attending the games and rooting their team on in good times and bad.
Females all across the country have shared their stories on how they became a NFL fan, what their favorite moments have been watching their team and even if they could ever date a guy who wasn’t a football fan.
Next up we have two lovely ladies from the great state of Texas, representing the Houston Texans. If there are any two ladies that epitomize the female football fan, it’s Brittany and Jayme. Both of them share a hatred of the nearby Cowboys but Brittany prides herself on running an all-female Fantasy Football league (sound familiar?) and Jayme will straight up question your manhood if you aren’t a NFL fan (rightfully so!).

GUYSGIRL: How long have you been a NFL fan? Where did your passion start?
Brittany: Ever since I could remember, it started with the Houston Oilers in the ‘Love ya Blue’ days! Then they moved away. 🙁
How do you watch your favorite team? Season ticket holder, watch at home, with friends at a bar, etc…
Tailgate at all the home games and for away games we go to a local bar or have a BBQ watch party.
What is your favorite thing about football season?
Tailgating and hanging out with other super fans!
What team do you hate the most?
Dallas Cowboys or as we like to call them the Crybabies.
Would you ever date someone who wasn’t a NFL fan? What if they were an avid fan of your most hated rival?
I would date someone that wasn’t an NFL fan but quickly change that, and as far as being a fan of the Crybabies I don’t think that would work out…
What is your fondest memory about your favorite team?
Gathering at Reliant Stadium to welcome the team back when we clinched our 1st playoff birth! And getting my picture taken with the sexy J.J. Watt!
What is the greatest moment as a fan that you have ever experienced?
Every week is a great moment! I love attending training camp to get a sneak peak of the team before the season starts but my fav so far is being able to go on the field and hold the Texas flag in the pregame activities…
But we haven’t had our greatest YET… SUPER BOWL HERE WE COME!
What is your favorite game to play while tailgating/watching a football game?
We like to play cornhole and do a lot of line dancing.
What is best food you have ever had at a football game/sports bar/friend’s house while a football game is on?
Of course being from Texas it would have to be the BBQ! It’s the best!
What is your drink of choice while watching a football game?
Coors Light – don’t drink it if the mountains aren’t blue. Or Captain Morgan n Coke.
What is your favorite thing wear to a football game?
My blinged out logo tee & flip flops or my Brian Cushing jersey. <3
If you can only take three things into a football game, what would they be and why?
My ticket for starters… don’t wanna forget that, some $$$$ to buy the newest gear and a camera to capture the moments!
Do you play fantasy football at all? If so, how long have you been playing and what do you like most about it?
Yes, I’ve been playing for 3 years and I actually am the commish for an all girls league with my friends and the smack talk and the rivalry is soo fun but the most fun are the parties we have!

GUYSGIRL: How long have you been a NFL fan? Where did your passion start?
Jayme: I was a bit of a late bloomer into the football world. I grew up a HUGE baseball fan, Astros of course. I didn’t get into football until I was in high school, and it initially started in 2002 when the Texans came about.
How do you watch your favorite team? Season ticket holder, watch at home, with friends at a bar, etc…
I attend as many games as possible. There is nothing better then seeing the guys in action in person. For away games, we usually gather with friends and make it a Sunday Funday….
What is your favorite thing about football season?
I can’t just name one thing; everything about football season is my favorite.
What team do you hate the most?
Hhmmm, Titans and the Jaguars (sorry @GuysGirl). Cowboys are in my top 5 too.
Would you ever date someone who wasn’t a NFL fan? What if they were an avid fan of your most hated rival?
Probably not, I’m not comfortable with being the man in the relationship… Seriously though, who the heck doesn’t like football?
Me dating a Titan or Jag fan? Meh… they better be super hot.
What is your fondest memory about your favorite team?
Definitely when they won the AFC South Champ title last season. I nearly broke my couch. True story.
What is the greatest moment as a fan that you have ever experienced?
It might not be the greatest but it’s the most memorable… Brian Cushing headbutting a Browns player without his helmet would be mine.
What is your favorite game to play while tailgating/watching a football game?
Well it depends, if we are tailgating any game is fun… Bean bags, beer pong. If I’m at home watching the game, or at a friend’s house, we usually just eat way too much.
What is best food you have ever had at a football game/sports bar/friend’s house while a football game is on?
We went to a friends house for Super Bowl last year and someone made this chicken buffalo dip, my gosh, it was amazing.
What is your drink of choice while watching a football game?
I’m a beer girl.
What is your favorite thing wear to a football game?
You have to represent, so I’m either wearing my Brian Cushing jersey or Connor Barwin jersey 🙂 GO TEXANS!!
If you can only take three things into a football game, what would they be and why?
I’m assuming clothes are allowed? Cell phone, money for beer, and Chapstick 🙂
Do you play fantasy football at all? If so, how long have you been playing and what do you like most about it?
I’m not playing this season. I played last season and needed time to get on with work and school. But it’s defiantly a great conversation starter on Twitter.
HUGE thanks to both Jayme and Brittany for joining our Female Fan Series and letting us know about their fan experiences!
