Hilary Duff is heading back to the small screen (finally!) for the first time since her Lizzie McGuire days.
TV Land picked up her new sitcom Younger. Created by Sex and the City producer Darren Star, the show focuses on a 40-year-old single mom (played by Sutton Foster) who heads back to the working world – posing as a 20-something assistant. Liza befriends her young co-worker, played by Duff…
Sounds like the sitcom might tank pretty fast, but I will be glued to my TV until the show’s canceled just to watch my longtime girl crush.
I’ve been a Hil Duff fan since she taught me how to navigate through awkward pre-teen years in two seasons of sheer girlhood generous. I’m not saying my roommates and I sit up until 2 a.m. watching reruns of Lizzie McGuire… but we totally do, and it’s awesome.
My admiration only grew with every Hit Clip (yup, THOSE Hit Clips) I collected from her 2003 debut album Metamorphosis. Perez Hilton reported back in March that the 26-year-old signed a record deal, and I can’t wait to see what she comes out with.
Hilary, who has a 2-year old son with soon-to-be-ex Mike Comrie, Instagrammed a picture of herself lounging by a pool at Coachella last weekend looking like one hot momma.
Even celebs have a crush on this blonde beauty. Teen Vogue’s May cover girl and Grammy award winner Lorde had a big fan-girl moment in her interview after learning Duff had attended her performance:
“Hilary Duff? Are you freaking serious? Hilary Duff was there last night? This is what dreams are made of! Was she vibing it? Was she bobbing her head?”
And let’s not forget Aaron Carter’s cryptic tweets back in March about regretting his breakup with Duff in the early 2000s.
Please, Aaron, you’re “So Yesterday” for our girl crush.
