OSU National Champ + Jags Michael Bennett Joins the Show

OSU’s — excuse me — THE Ohio State University’s DT Michael Bennett was drafted in the sixth round of the 2015 draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Bennett joined the ladies of Helmets and Heels live at Whiskey Jax alongside THE Jax Buckeyes Club to talk football life on and off the field. During his first year in the NFL, Bennett started and played in 13 games on a Jaguars team struggling to take that next step. But in the offseason, the Jaguars had arguably one of the best offseasons in NFL history with the additions of Malik Jackson, Jalen...

Ohio State QB Cardale Jones Insults Female Sports Fans on Twitter; Claims He was Hacked

Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones is no stranger to saying things on Twitter that get a rise out of people. But instead of jokes about himself, Jones decided during Game 1 of the NBA Finals to ruffle the feathers of female sports fans by saying the majority of them are only fans because of a team’s colors. He followed the aforementioned tweet with a series of questionable opinions before deciding this was a bad idea and starting hitting delete. After what I would assume was an onslaught of replies claiming women can indeed be legit sports fans without worrying about...

Clemson and Ohio State Gameday Style and Preview

One word: quarterbacks. The key to this year’s Orange Bowl will be two of college football’s most talented QBs: Clemson’s Tajh Boyd and Ohio State’s Braxton Miller. Both QBs are more than equipped to perform (and perform well) against just about any defense. Boyd’s strength is his arm; a senior headed for the NFL draft, he’s thrown for over 3,400 yards and scored 29 touchdowns in each of his past three seasons. For Miller, a junior, it’s his legs; he’s rushed for over 1,000 yards and scored 28+ touchdowns in each of his past two seasons. These two guys will play perhaps the...

The Big 10 is more excited to see 2013 than any other conference

What a difference a year makes. No conference is happy to see 2013 arrive than the Big Ten. Last year at this time, the conference was reeling, dealing with the aftermath of scandals at two of its most prestigious institutions. Both Ohio State and Penn State were banned from the postseason, and the Nittany Lions were hammered by the NCAA as a result of the Sandusky sex abuse scandal. The additions of Maryland and Rutgers were panned, and Rutgers was embroiled in a scandal of its own that led to a shakeup of the administration. On the field, things...

The More Things Change, the More They Stay the Same

Well that was ugly. Notre Dame’s vaunted defense was no match for the onslaught that is the Crimson Tide as Alabama steamrolled the Fighting Irish 42-14 to capture its third BCS title in four years. Alabama drove right down the field on its opening drive and never looked back. It was 14-0 after one quarter and 28-0 at half. Notre Dame trailed 35-0 before finally getting on the board and ending Alabama’s incredible 108 minute-long BCS title game shutout streak. For the second straight year, Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron came up big when it mattered most. Last year’s title...
