Get Ready For the Rivalry of the Ages: Noles vs. The U

When the Florida State Seminoles and the Miami Hurricanes meet, it’s for one reason and one reason only: To be the best team in the state of Florida.

The Hurricanes and the Seminoles have the most exciting rivalry in any sport, professional or college and it’s been going on for the past quarter of a century. No other teams in college football stand a chance.

While the U leads the series with the all-time 31-27, all of the games have been nail bitters and kept fans on the edge of their seats with wide rights and lefts, pregame smack talk, fights and tears.

Some even suggest the FSU-UM rivalry brought swagger back to college football with the amount of talent from both teams who have made it to the pros.

Michael Irving, Eddie Reed, Anquan Bouldin, Darnell Dockett, and Leon Washington are only a few of the players who have made it big in the NFL from being a product of this rivalry.

Teams have even taken to social media to highlight the importance of this game.

But what is it about this meeting, once a year, between these two teams that make it so special?

I’ve been to several FSU-UM games (yes, I bleed garnet and gold) and whether you’re cheering for the Noles or The U, no one can deny how electric and mind blowing the atmosphere is.

A heated rivalry game is like Christmas day for the die-hard college football fan. The players show up ready to play and with their passion for the game glaring, both teams will leave it all on the field.

FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher thinks the Canes are playing “very good football” this year, and Hurricanes coach Al Golden is still looking for his first win against the ‘Noles.

I’m not even doing this rivalry any justice. Just watch and see for yourself this Saturday, prime-time on ABC. I promise you will not be disappointed.
