Jurgen Klinsmann names 23-man roster for Gold Cup

The Gold Cup is just weeks away and that means the United States men’s national team is announcing its 23-man roster for the regional tournament.

Below is the full roster being taken by manager Jurgen Klinsmann, which includes 17 players from the 2014 World Cup, and 10 players who have won at least one Gold Cup.

GOALKEEPERS (3): Brad Guzan (Aston Villa/2007), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake/2011, 2013), William Yarbrough (Club Leon)

DEFENDERS (7): Ventura Alvarado (Club America), John Brooks (Hertha Berlin), Timmy Chandler (Eintracht Frankfurt), Brad Evans (Seattle Sounders FC/2009), Omar Gonzalez (LA Galaxy/2013), Fabian Johnson (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Tim Ream (Bolton Wanderers/2011)

MIDFIELDERS (9): Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake/2009, 2013), Alejandro Bedoya (Nantes/2011, 2013), Michael Bradley (Toronto FC/2007, 2011), Brad Davis (Houston Dynamo/2005), Mix Diskerud (New York City FC/2013), Alfredo Morales (Ingolstadt), DeAndre Yedlin (Tottenham Hotspur), Gyasi Zardes (LA Galaxy), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City)

FORWARDS (4): Jozy Altidore (Toronto FC/2011), Clint Dempsey (Seattle Sounders FC/2005, 2007, 2011), Aron Johannsson (AZ Alkmaar), Chris Wondolowski (San Jose Earthquakes/2011, 2013)

Do I think this roster is good enough to beat Mexico? Yes. The strikers are experienced, the midfield is improving, and the defense is fast. My only question is…

Why no Jordan Morris? He’s one of our bright, young stars who could use the experience. He scored his first international goal against Mexico on April 15th, and would be a great sub to bring in off the bench.

After the Gold Cup’s group stage, teams that qualify for the quarterfinal round may replace up to six players on the roster.

Let’s make Father’s Day mean something

When it comes to Father’s Day, dads usually get the short end of the stick. People spend about $7 billion more for Mother’s Day than for Father’s Day, and many dads are lucky to even get a card or a call.

This year, Toyota wanted to help make Father’s Day mean something more, so they’ve put together a heartwarming video honoring dads.

Let’s make Father’s Day mean something this year.

Watch over five minutes of Star Wars: Battlefront gameplay

This week’s E3 expo brought a wide array of upcoming video games that have us counting down the minutes until they’re released later this year. One of those titles — Star Wars: Battlefront — gave the nerd inside all of us a hug and told us it was all going to be okay.

We saw a few 30-second clips here and there, but the full five-minute trailer (of actual Playstation 4 gameplay) called “Walker Assault” is almost too good.

Enjoy! (And thanks, Polygon!)
