(Won-Loss Record and Last Week’s Ranking in parentheses)

1.  Atlanta Falcons (8-0) (1) – Still table setting.

2.  Houston Texans (7-1) (2) – Can be dominating on either side of the ball.

3.  Chicago Bears (7-1) (4) – I’m starting to think they should leave the defense on the field for the whole game.  They’d probably still win.

4.  San Francisco 49ers (6-2) (5) – Will be tested in the second half of the season.

T-5.  Baltimore Ravens (6-2) (6) – Back on track.  For now.

T-5.  Green Bay Packers (6-3) (6) – Four in a row heading into the bye makes them as hot a team as there is.

7.   New York Giants (6-3) (3) – Looking at a very challenging stretch run.

T-8.  New England Patriots (5-3) (8) – Four remaining division games loom large.

T-8.  Pittsburgh Steelers (5-3) (9) – Two of next four vs. Ravens will decide the AFC North.

10.  Denver Broncos (5-3) (10) – Is Manning closing in on a fifth MVP?

11.  Seattle Seahawks (5-4) (12) – Legitimate contender.

12.  San Diego Chargers (4-4) (16) – I’m not buying this team just because they beat the Chiefs.

13.  Indianapolis Colts (5-3) (19) – You are as good as your record says you are.

14.  Minnesota Vikings (5-4) (11) – Floundering team + impossibly tough remaining schedule = dead in the water

15.  Miami Dolphins (4-4) (13) – Couldn’t afford that loss.

16.  Detroit Lions (4-4) (20) – Will need to beat somebody good to get where they want to go.

17.  Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-4) (24) – Finally looking like they’re for real.

18.  Arizona Cardinals (4-5) (15) – Five in a row.  Only reason it won’t become six next week is you can’t lose to “Bye.”

19.  Dallas Cowboys (3-5) (17) – Have shot themselves in the foot so many times they are now missing a foot.

20.  New Orleans Saints (3-5) (23) – NFC:  Meet your spoiler.

21.  New York Jets (3-5) (21) – Week off won’t help them.

22.  Philadelphia Eagles (3-5) (14) – They have quit.

23.  Buffalo Bills (3-5) (18) – Time to start over.

24.  Washington Redskins (3-6) (22) – If it were me, I’d get rid of Shanahan and bring in the best QB development coach I could find.  Hey, Andy Reid’s gonna need a job.

25.  Cincinnati Bengals (3-5) (25) – This team used to be 3-1.  Just saying.

26.  Oakland Raiders (3-5) (26) – Another team with a dud defense, especially against the run.

27.  St. Louis Rams (3-5) (27) – One of the few teams in this bottom group that can feel OK about what they’ve accomplished so far.

28.  Carolina Panthers (2-6) (31) – Finally found a way to win.

29.  Cleveland Browns (2-7) (28) – And mercifully, a bye week.

30.  Tennessee Titans (3-6) (29) – Owner says loss to Bears was “worst thing he’s ever seen in history of the franchise.”  Coach says “time to update my Resume on Monster.”

31.  Kansas City Chiefs (1-7) (30) – Matt Barkley?  Or Geno Smith?

32.  Jacksonville Jaguars (1-7) (32) – Geno Smith?  Or Matt Barkley?
