By now, most of NFL fans know of the enormous female following that the sport has. Which is why we at GuysGirl reached out via various social networks to recognize the real female fans that are tailgating in the elements, attending the games and rooting their team on in good times and bad.
Females all across the country have shared their stories on how they became a NFL fan, what their favorite moments have been while watching their team and even if they could ever date a guy who wasn’t a football fan.
Next up we have Tacey who represents one of the most hated teams in all of sports, the Steelers. Fans hate the Steelers like they hate the Yankees. Because every single year, they are competitive, travel extremely well and always seem to pull a win. But just because your team wins a lot, doesn’t mean you haven’t been a life long fan and Tacey is a perfect example of growing up as a member of Blitzburgh Nation.

-How long have you been a NFL fan? Where did your passion start?
I was raised in a household full of Steelers memorabilia and was a fan before I even knew the rules of the game. I would watch football every Sunday with my father and brothers when I was younger. But I didn’t become obsessed with them until I was older and could understand that the Steelers had the attitude and the personality on the field that so many other teams were lacking.
-How do you watch your favorite team?
I prefer to watch the game at a bar. I like the chaotic atmosphere of all the fans there and its nice to meet other Steelers fans.
-What is your favorite thing about football season?
Tailgating! Also, spending every Sunday with friends and cooking out.
-What team do you hate the most?
The Packers! They defiantly moved to the top of my list since they beat us last year at the super bowl. And the Browns…

-Would you ever date someone who wasn’t a NFL fan? What if they were an avid fan of your most hated rival?
It depends on what I would have to compromise to date that person. I really love the Steelers and I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing a browns jersey. So if we could support each other without doing that, then I think it could work out. I don’t think I could date anyone who wasn’t an NFL fan period. I enjoy watching football and I wouldn’t want to date anyone who doesn’t share the same interest as me.
-What is your fondest memory about your favorite team?
Well I would have to say my fondest moment in history of the Steelers is when they won their sixth super bowl championship!!
-What is the greatest moment as a fan that you have ever experienced?
When I lived in Tampa for the 2009 Super Bowl XLIII against the Arizona Cardinals. I remember thinking it was my lucky day being that my birthday almost always falls on the Super Bowl and the fact that the Steelers were coming right to my back yard. I tailgated and even tried to sneak in, but security was pretty legit that day. It was a sense of accomplishment making it to another super bowl and I felt like I was a part of history when they won that day.
