By now, most of NFL fans know of the enormous female following that the sport has. Which is why we at GuysGirl reached out via various social networks to recognize the real female fans that are tailgating in the elements, attending the games and rooting their team on in good times and bad.
Females all across the country have shared their stories on how they became a NFL fan, what their favorite moments have been watching their team and even if they could ever date a guy who wasn’t a football fan.
Now when this response was originally sent out, for reasons unbenoknownst to me, the majority of fans that responded were actually Cleveland Browns fans. Naturally, being from Jacksonville, I assumed many of the fans who would write in would be local Jag fans, this was not the case.
The Browns fans that wrote in were at least doubled any other team entry and because of this, I could exclude any one of them.
Hit the title/read more to check out some of the awesome Browns fans who submitted their entries….

–How do you watch your favorite team? Season ticket holder, watch at home, with friends at a bar, etc…
7AM TAILGATE AND SEASON TICKET HOLDER
–What is your favorite thing about football season?
THAT THE BROWNS FANS ARE A FAMILY AND WE CAN ALL BE TOGETHER EVERY SUNDAY WITH A COMMON GOAL AND HAVE A TON OF FUN
–What team do you hate the most?
STEELERS
–Would you ever date someone who wasn’t a NFL fan? What if they were an avid fan of your most hated rival?

How long have you been a NFL fan? Where did your passion start?
Since I can remember. My dad loves the Browns and we would sit on the couch watching games all day on Sundays, eating roasted peanuts and a variety of snacks. He would cheer, then get upset and just say “they are bums” and turn off the tv. Football season was the only time that we could eat our Sunday meal (pasta) was in front of the tv. And it was the time when it was just me and my dad.
–How do you watch your favorite team? Season ticket holder, watch at home, with friends at a bar, etc…
Mainly at home or at my parents. Sometimes at the bar.
–What is your favorite thing about football season?
Getting my hopes up then heartbroken each year by my beloved Browns. It is a torture that I’ve come to enjoy.
–What team do you hate the most?
Steelers! Duh!
–Would you ever date someone who wasn’t a NFL fan? What if they were an avid fan of your most hated rival?
Ekk. I kinda did- wouldn’t recommended it as I was the one who wanted to sit in front of the tv and be lazy watching games. Winters in Cleveland are meant to be spent watching the football. No. Never acceptable to date a Steelers (or Ravens) fan
–What is your fondest memory about your favorite team?
Well, as a Browns fan, the fondest memories also come packed with the infamous Cleveland Montage of Red Right 88, The Drive, The Fumble, etc. My fondest memory is watching the Browns take the field again after the team came back and also watching Bernie Kosar during his heyday.
–What is the greatest moment as a fan that you have ever experienced?
As a fan, watching the Indians make it to the World Series a few times and come so close to ending Cleveland’s drought of National Championships. The Cavs had years of success with the guy who went south. But, it is a tie between watching the Indians beat the Yankees during the ‘bug game’ AND the Browns beat the defending super bowl champs Giants on Monday night football at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

–How long have you been a NFL fan? Where did your passion start?
All my life I’ve been a Browns fan. I remember being little and watching the games on Sunday. Over the past few years though, my passion for the game and the Browns has grown. I look forward to the weekends in the fall where I am with my “crew” in downtown Cleveland, cheering on our team.
–How do you watch your favorite team? Season ticket holder, watch at home, with friends at a bar, etc…
Season ticket holder, watch away games with friends either at a home or bar
–What is your favorite thing about football season?
Seeing our team give it their all, being with my closest friends
–What team do you hate the most?
Pittsburg Steelers. No question.
–Would you ever date someone who wasn’t a NFL fan? What if they were an avid fan of your most hated rival?
Possibly….if they were a Steelers fan though it may be difficult. They need to at least be willing to go to a few games a year with me.
–What is your fondest memory about your favorite team?
I’d say this past season and seeing our team go out there each week and give it their all – especially the new young guys. You can see how much they love Cleveland (whether it be tweeting in the off season that they can’t wait to be back in Cleveland or showing up at Cleveland events).
–What is the greatest moment as a fan that you have ever experienced?
I haven’t had one moment that completely sticks out. I would say that I have some of the greatest times though with my friends on Sundays. Heading out to tailgate at 4:45 a.m., playing cornhole, hanging out with the season ticket holders around us and knowing that each and every Sunday will be as good as the one before – win or lose. We love our team no matter what.

–How long have you been a NFL fan? Where did your passion start?
I have been an NFL fan as long as I can remember. My elementary school had shirts made for the Kardiac Kids. I begged and pleaded with my parents for one of those. I have never looked back since.
–How do you watch your favorite team? Season ticket holder, watch at home, with friends at a bar, etc…
I have lived outside of Cleveland for the last 20 years, so I have been forced to beg and bribe bartenders all over the country to show my beloved Browns. When I lived in Indianapolis, I had a few sports bars trained…they saw me coming in and someone went right to the main console to put the Browns on.
–What is your favorite thing about football season?
I love being with my friends and family (in person or through social media) to watch the game and cheer and whine together.
–What team do you hate the most?
I thought everyone knew. The evil empire known as the Pittsburgh Steelers.
–Would you ever date someone who wasn’t a NFL fan? What if they were an avid fan of your most hated rival?
As long as he supported my football habit and would bring me cold beer and hot nachos, I could live with it. I however could never ever ever date a diehard Steelers fan.
–What is your fondest memory about your favorite team?
The run in the 80s that we had as the Kardiac Kids. Cleveland was on fire with the entire city behind the team. It was a great feeling knowing that this *could* be the year.
–What is the greatest moment as a fan that you have ever experienced?
Hmm…this is a tough one. I think it would be my dad calling me to see him on the golf course. I grumpily showed up (I was a teenager, I was always grumpy) and waiting there for me was Bernie Kosar! Bernie was the Browns QB at the time. He was friendly and posed for pictures and was a great guy. I love meeting my sports heroes and they are awesome and not fools.

–How long have you been a NFL fan? Where did your passion start?
Born and raised in Cleveland Ohio, I have been a Bowns fan since birth. I don’t remember being at the muni lot when I was 2 and 3 years old , but I have the pictures and stories from my dad to prove it. My dad is a huge browns fan. He used to call himself space doggie. He’d go to the dog pound for games wearing a dog mask and an extra large astronaut type hood. Classic Baribault attire for the browns games.
–How do you watch your favorite team? Season ticket holder, watch at home, with friends at a bar, etc…
Since I live in las Vegas now, I watch them on tv or at the local buffalo wild wings. “
–What is your favorite thing about football season?
Hmm mm. Just the excitement that this year will be our year. Even though it never ends I still have the pride of being a Cleveland fan.
–What team do you hate the most?
Steelers. Duh.
–Would you ever date someone who wasn’t a NFL fan? What if they were an avid fan of your most hated rival?
I would. My bf is a Detroit fan. So we tend to suffer together.
–What is your fondest memory about your favorite team?
Anytime we beat the steelers.
–What is the greatest moment as a fan that you have ever experienced?
I think just being at the games. There is no better place to watch the browns than in Cleveland in the dog pound.
